We Support Children and Youth to Reach Their Full Potential

What We Do

01.

— We Find & Fund

At Lucky Child, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their abilities or circumstances. Many children with special educational needs remain unidentified or lack access to the support they require. Our mission begins by finding these children and understanding their unique needs.
Through partnerships with schools, families, healthcare professionals, and community organisations, we identify children who require specialised educational, therapeutic, or developmental support. We work closely with parents and caregivers to ensure that no child is left behind because of financial, social, or geographical barriers.
Once needs are identified, we mobilise resources to provide assistance. We fund assessments, educational interventions, therapy sessions, assistive devices, learning materials, and specialised programmes that can transform a child’s life. We also seek sponsorships, grants, donations, and corporate partnerships to ensure sustainable support for our beneficiaries.
Every contribution entrusted to us is directed towards creating meaningful opportunities for children with special educational needs. By finding children who need help and funding the services that empower them, we help build a more inclusive Mauritius where every child can learn, grow, participate, and thrive with dignity.
Together, we are turning challenges into possibilities and giving hope to families across the nation.

02.

— We Build Networks

No child succeeds alone. Behind every child’s progress stands a network of parents, educators, therapists, healthcare professionals, volunteers, donors, and community partners working together towards a common goal. At Lucky Child, we believe that meaningful change happens when people unite around the needs of children.
We actively build and strengthen networks that connect families with the services, expertise, and support systems they need. By bringing together stakeholders from different sectors, we create pathways for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and coordinated action. These partnerships help ensure that children with special educational needs receive comprehensive and continuous support throughout their developmental journey.
Our network extends across schools, non-governmental organisations, businesses, government agencies, healthcare providers, and international partners who share our commitment to inclusion and equal opportunity. Through workshops, community programmes, advocacy initiatives, and strategic partnerships, we foster an environment where resources and expertise can be shared for the benefit of children and their families.
By building strong networks, we create stronger communities. Together, we can break down barriers, promote inclusion, and ensure that every child in Mauritius has access to the support, opportunities, and encouragement needed to thrive.
Because when communities work together, children flourish.

03.

— We Strengthen

At Lucky Child, we recognise that lasting change begins with strengthening the people and institutions that support children every day. Our work goes beyond providing immediate assistance. We focus on building the capacity of families, educators, caregivers, and communities so that children can receive consistent and effective support throughout their lives.
We empower parents with knowledge, guidance, and practical tools to better understand and advocate for their children’s needs. We support teachers and professionals through training opportunities, resource sharing, and access to best practices in inclusive education and child development. We also work with organisations and community groups to enhance their ability to serve children with special educational needs.
By strengthening skills, confidence, and collaboration, we help create environments where children can learn, participate, and succeed. Our approach promotes resilience, independence, and long-term sustainability, ensuring that support continues long after individual interventions have ended.
Every strengthened parent becomes a stronger advocate. Every strengthened teacher becomes a better educator. Every strengthened community becomes a place where children can thrive.
Together, we are building a stronger foundation for the children of Mauritius and their families.

04.

— We Educate

At Lucky Child, education is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that every child has the right to learn in an environment that understands their needs, respects their pace, and nurtures their potential. Our role is to make inclusive and meaningful education accessible to children with special educational needs across Mauritius.
We work with educators to promote inclusive teaching practices that adapt to different learning styles and abilities. Through training, resources, and ongoing support, we help teachers build classrooms where every child feels seen, valued, and capable of progress.
We also support children directly through tailored learning interventions, early assessment, and personalised learning strategies. These approaches are designed to strengthen foundational skills, build confidence, and encourage independent learning.
Education, for us, is not limited to academic achievement. It includes communication, life skills, emotional development, and social inclusion. We aim to equip every child with the tools they need to participate fully in society.
By working closely with families, schools, and specialists, we create a shared learning ecosystem where no child is left behind.
Because when we educate inclusively, we unlock potential that lasts a lifetime.

05.

— We Provide Care

At Lucky Child, care is more than support, it is presence, attention, and dignity in action. We understand that children with special educational needs require not only educational assistance but also consistent emotional, developmental, and practical care that supports their overall wellbeing.
We work closely with families to ensure that every child is understood as an individual, with unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations. Our approach is compassionate and personalised, focusing on building trust with both the child and their caregivers.
Through referrals and partnerships, we help families access therapy services, medical guidance, counselling, and specialised interventions. We also provide orientation and follow up support so that parents are not left alone in navigating complex systems.
Our care extends beyond the child to the family unit. We listen, we guide, and we stand alongside parents during moments of uncertainty, helping them make informed decisions with confidence.
We believe that consistent care builds stability, and stability creates the conditions for growth. When children feel safe and supported, they are better able to learn, express themselves, and engage with the world around them.
At Lucky Child, every act of care is a step toward dignity, inclusion, and hope.

06.

— We Consult

At Lucky Child, consultation is where understanding begins. We take time to listen carefully to children, parents, educators, and professionals so that every decision is guided by real needs rather than assumptions.
We provide structured consultations to assess learning, developmental, and behavioural needs in a holistic manner. Our approach is collaborative, bringing together insights from families, teachers, therapists, and specialists to build a clear picture of each child’s situation.
Through these consultations, we help families understand challenges, identify strengths, and explore practical pathways forward. We do not offer one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we work to design personalised recommendations that are realistic, achievable, and focused on long-term progress.
